Goutam Pal

At Sloka since 2010

Goutam Pal did his BFA and MFA in painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan. Goutam has been awarded a Teaching Fellowship 2022 program by the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and Artreach India, Delhi. He has also received a city award in the Painting category from Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation 2017, Mumbai. He holds the Visva-Bharati merit scholarship in Painting (2005-09), and has been part of many national and international workshops and exhibitions.

He has been teaching Art for Grades 6-10 at Sloka for a decade and has mentored many nationwide workshops. He is the department head of Art in Sloka. He is also associated with the Anthroposophical Society of India.

Goutam finds a lot of similarities between the Santiniketan School and Sloka, and parallelly, between the philosophies of Tagore and Steiner. The flexibility as well as the evolving nature of the curriculum inspire him — as an artist and a teacher, both.
