“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.”

– Rudolf Steiner

This quote by Steiner continues to be our motto and guiding light as we open the gates for young adults to join the 11th grade. We are sure that the carefully chosen subjects, hand-picked teachers and the global Waldorf high school curriculum, will be the triumvirate to deliver world-class education to adolescents – the young explorers navigating their way through the world.

Being the first full-fledged Waldorf school in India, the mission to nurture the spark in budding minds has long been a goal of ours. As we enter our 26th academic year in 2023-24, we’re overjoyed to extend our curriculum exclusively to the Humanities stream for Grade 11.

Our intention behind offering Humanities at Sloka is to engage each student with their ideas of self, culture, and the world itself, actively focusing on communication, creativity, and critical thinking. With Sloka’s child-centric curriculum, parents and teachers are committed to helping the kids grow into well-rounded adults with empathy.

Our gates are finally open for the young adults of tomorrow.

Preparing the future

If children are the future, it is best to prepare for theirs. That’s why the choice of subjects we offer at Sloka have been curated to ensure that the future generation is trained in essential life skills.

  • Managing, guiding and inspiring others
  • Effective communication
  • Analysing facts to make informed decisions
  • Identification and resolution of problems
  • Managing and prioritising time to achieve goals
  • Technical and creative knowledge
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible, especially as a part of a team
  • Acknowledging and improving emotional intelligence
Curricular Help

We have sought the help of two principals from reputed, established schools in Hyderabad to hand-hold us in this transition and help us ease into 11th grade. Apart from this, we have had several sessions with Waldorf teachers across the world to dovetail the curriculum with CBSE norms. The General Studies component of CBSE High School will help us balance the Humanities and Commerce streams with elements from Science and Arts. The school is associated with several social work projects, collaboration that we believe will help adolescents develop empathy, and strengthen their ideas of secularism and compassion.

Field Trips & Exchange Visits

To expand their horizons, students will be taken on trips across the country and internationally, apart from exchange visits. At Sloka, students are encouraged to participate in debates, MUNs, inter-school sports, educational trips and other opportunities for learning. As part of Waldorf Curriculum, students will additionally be offered classes that teach

  • Crafts
  • Bothmer Gymnastics
  • Games
  • Painting
  • Metal Embossing

Career Counselling

As we prepare them for a future, we also believe the students need to ask themselves the right questions before they choose their path. That’s why we conduct Career Counselling sessions for students in 10th grade. With the introduction of 11th grade starting with the academic year 2023-24, it only makes sense to continue the practice, perhaps in a more intensive way for grade 12.

We will also invite Liberal Arts Universities and other institutions to conduct orientation sessions for undergraduate admissions, including

  • Ashoka University
  • TISS
  • Rishihood University
  • Flame University
  • Krea University
  • Azim Premji University
  • O. P. Jindal Global University
